    Movement Climbing + Fitness: Boulder, CO

    The IFSC Lead World Cup is coming to Movement Climbing + Fitness!

    On October 8-9th, 2011, USA Climbing is hosting the first IFSC Lead World Cup in over 22 years in Boulder, CO at Movement Climbing + Fitness. This event is expected to bring the best climbers from more than 25 countries together in a great venue in a great city for competition climbing.

    We will keep you updated over the next month, but here are a few preliminary details to get you started:
    TICKETS:
    Tickets for both Saturday and Sunday, including an “early bird” package, are available right now at www.usaclimbingworldcup.com.

    WORLD CUP TAILGATE!
    To help celebrate this event we’ll be having the World Cup Tailgate Saturday and Sunday, brought to us by our some of our Local Sponsors: Upslope Brewery,, Ideal Market , Odwalla, Lighthouse Solar, Motavation Volumes, and many more.

    Whether you are a climber, a body worker, a parent, a teacher, an administrator, a dishwasher, a musician, you use your hands to accomplish your tasks. In this Movement Lab, we take special note on how we use our hands, not just in relationship to these activities, but as an extension of ourselves.

    Girl’s Rock and Peak Performance

    Girls Rock:
    2011 Fall Semester
    Thursdays, August 18th – December 8th, 4:00 – 6:00pm
    A non competitive after- school climbing program for girls ages 8 to 12.
    * payment includes expert instruction + facilitation, day pass + equipment rental.
    * prior climbing experience is helpful, but not required.

    2011 Fall Semester Investment:
    -$380 if paid in full for the semester (PIF)

    What is Peak Performance?
    Have you ever been at a plateau with your climbing and you can’t seem to break through? If so, Peak Performance is what you need . Come and join renowned climbing coach Jimmie Redo and strength conditioning coach Dave Wahl for a 6 week complete performance program. This program is designed to help you reach your climbing goals by highlighting and strengthening your personal areas of need.

    24 hours of small group training (Tuesdays + Thursdays, 6:30-8:30pm, August 23rd-September 29th)

    Part 1: Freedom in legs and hips

    Thai massage fosters understanding of body movement and receptive touch. During this fun Movement Lab we will focus on opening the lower body by employing passive yoga-style stretches and building awareness around correct body mechanics. No need to bring a partner, but please bring a pillow.

    Come join us for our Outdoor Ride each Saturday from 8:30 am – 10:30 am!  Its a great way to put your indoor cycling training into practice, and also a great way to meet other riders in your community.

    The ride is great for all levels, and this Saturday, July 9th, the ride will finish at UPSLOPE BREWERY for a free BBQ and beer tasting…what a great way to start your weekend!

    Movement will be CLOSED on Mon, July 4th.
    However! Emily S will be teaching the Movement Lab on Fri, July 1st at 10am!
    Also, all weekend classes and operating hours will remain the same.
    Don’t forget: The Outdoor Ride will still occur on Saturday, the 2nd, but the Upslope BBQ (regularly scheduled for the 1st Saturday of every month) is moved to Saturday, July 9th. See you there!
