    2012 youth summer climbing camps

    Starting in June we have three 5-day summer camp sessions throughout the summer season:
    June 11-15
    July 9-13
    August 6-10


    Each session will offer a fun environment to play games, rock climb, + get fit!

    Climbing games will include:
    Bouldering
    Top roping
    Responsible climbing
    Foot work finesse
    And, tons of FUN!

    While, the Fitness section games will include:
    Injury prevention
    Strength building
    Speed challenges
    Body Awareness
    And, did we mention? Tons of FUN!

    Curious about Thai Massage? Don't miss the last of Yuki T's Thai Yoga Massage series. In this special class you will learn how to give a Thai Yoga massage, + you will receive one!

    Thai Yoga Massage fosters understanding of body movement and receptive touch. During this fun Movement Lab, we will focus on opening the upper body by employing passive yoga-style stretches and building awareness of correct body mechanics. No need to bring a partner, but please bring a pillow.

    Join Us for the inaugural class at Movement!

    AcroYoga Playshop, Level 2, is a special class that will occur on the second Tuesday of every month.

    Prerequisite: must have attended at least 5 AcroYoga, All Levels classes, or have attended AcroYoga workshops.

    AcroYoga Playshop, Level 2, is designed to take you to the next step of your AcroYoga practice. This class will introduce participants to intermediate + advanced partner inversion techniques, acrobatic flying transitions, + "washing machines", or cyclical flow. Warm up sequences will call upon + refine basic skills, + attendees will receive detailed instruction on therapeutic flying + Thai Yoga Massage.

    USA Climbing's SCS Open National Championships will be held at Movement this year!

    On April 6th and 7th, the best sport and speed climbers from around the country will gather in Boulder in the hopes of earning a spot on the US Team. Many of the faces that will likely grace the podium are regulars at MC+F, so come out and support your hometown climbers!

    ***There is no pre-qualification necessary to compete and there is a $6,000 cash purse!

    In honor of Valentine's Day, Mary-Laurence B. will offer a 2-hr Yin Yang Yoga Workshop. Expect to do a series of heating postures that call upon the muscular system, interspersed with postures in which the muscles can release. Once the muscles are released we will stay with the poses for up to 5 minute intervals. This ways the joints, and connective tissues may receive healthy stress + deeper openings may happen through the meridian lines of our bodies.

Movement is hosting another Parents Night Out on November 12th. Bring your children, ages 1-6, to Creations Playspace on Saturday, November 12th, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, where we will provide storytime, yoga, art, games and music.

    A sold-out crowd of 1,200 people came here this past weekend to see who would take the gold at the IFSC Lead World Cup in Boulder, Colorado: the first to be held on U.S. soil in more than 20 years! (A reported 20,000 more people watched the live stream on ifsc.tv... go competition climbing!)

    All athletes and representatives from their countries will meet at 15th and Pearl with Boulder dignitaries to parade down Pearl Street in celebration of the event.

    The IFSC Lead World Cup is coming to Movement Climbing + Fitness!

    On October 8-9th, 2011, USA Climbing is hosting the first IFSC Lead World Cup in over 22 years in Boulder, CO at Movement Climbing + Fitness. This event is expected to bring the best climbers from more than 25 countries together in a great venue in a great city for competition climbing.

    We will keep you updated over the next month, but here are a few preliminary details to get you started:
