    Movement Climbing + Fitness: Boulder, CO

    September is full of additions and changes as we prep for the approaching fall season!  An advanced yoga class, a fresh approach to fitness complimented by motivated new instructors, and a program for people looking for climbing partners, are all on the horizon as we get geared up for the cooler months.

    NEW YOGA CLASS! Advanced Yoga
    Mondays, 4:00p-5:30p taught by Michelle Anderson

    This class is for students with an existing intermediate or advanced yoga practice who wish to challenge themselves physically, learn sanskrit chants, and further their exploration of breathing and meditation.  Each class will include themed postures of all types, a detailed pranayama, chanting, or meditation practice, and savasana.

    THE ROPE UP
    Looking for new climbing partners? Excited to learn from fellow climbers? Join us for The Rope Up! There is no charge and it’s a great way to expand your climbing experience!
    Starting in October, we are offering a facilitated group 3 times a week for climbers who range from beginning to intermediate and are excited to meet up with new people. Stay tuned for more details…

    Favorite Instructors with New Classes!

    Movement Climbing + Fitness: Boulder, CO

    For the month of August, some of your favorite instructors have added more classes! Heath from Core Essentials and Brent from Vinyasa Yoga will be teaching more so you have a greater opportunity to enjoy their excellent classes. Additionally, we have just added Gary Gianetti to our roster so if you’re looking for an energized cycling class, come to Movement on Thursday mornings at 6:30a!
    Also, we are very excited to welcome Mary-Laurence Bevington as our new Yoga Director!
    Read on for full details and keep an eye out for more advanced yoga, group cycling, and gritty fitness classes in the coming months!

    Classes with New Instructors:

    If you enjoy Heath Croll’s Wednesday night Core Essentials class, he will also be teaching Sports Conditioning (Tuesdays 6:45p to 7:30p), and Blast Cardio (Fridays 11:00a to 11:30a) and Blast Abs (Fridays 11:45a to 11:50a).

    Also, Brent Miller, who teaches the popular Saturday Vinyasa class, will be teaching the Vinyasa Yoga on Thursday evening (6:15p to 7:30p).

    Lastly, we are excited to add Gary Gianetti as a new fitness and cycling instructor.  He teaches high energy cycling classes that are sure to get you going in the morning (Thursdays 6:30a – 7:15a).  He also has years of experience with functional fitness and he is excited to bring a new and fresh dynamic to the fitness department!

    New Yoga Director!
    We also are excited to announce our own Mary-Laurence Bevington as our new Yoga Director.

    We are very proud to have such a long-time member of the Boulder yoga community directing our yoga program.  Mary-Laurence earned a Master in Fine Arts Theatre at Naropa University and holds certificates in Body Knowledge (yoga, Pilates, and laying on of hands with Lara Kolesar), and massage therapy (Institute of Psycho Structural Balancing). She also has been involved with Movement since we opened the doors. We welcome her years of experience and practice and hope that you will enjoy her influence!

    Advanced Youth Fitness

    This Saturday, Aug 7th, from 9:30a-11:00a, our instructors will be giving a FREE DEMONSTRATION of what R.A.M.P. is all about! Come have your youngster participate in a class with other young athletes and get them started on their path to a healthy lifestyle!

    R.A.M.P. is a multifaceted program that will equip your young athlete (ages 6-18) with the best possible techniques, skills and movements to propel their sporting activities to the next level while arming them with the tools to help prevent injury – all with a fun yet straightforward approach.

    Movement’s Birthday Party

    Movement’s first birthday celebration is this Saturday, July 24th! Come and join us for a day of FREE access to the facility, and hang around until 6p for a free BBQ, live music and fun activities.

    There is a great schedule of classes and events and everything is FREE!  Also, each person that takes a class will receive a limited edition t-shirt.  Classes are on a first-come, first-serve basis so show up early to reserve your spot.

    AcroYoga + Slacklining Workshop

    THIS SATURDAY, JULY 17th, Movement will be offering two workshops that combine the skills of both slacklining and AcroYoga. These workshops accommodate all ages and there are still a few spots available! Read on for more information and sign up today!

    The balance needed to perform basic slackline poses such as line kneeling, arm balancing, standing and lying on your back are reinforced and assisted by AcroYoga poses!

    1st Workshop–Intro to Slacklining and AcroYoga

    Encompass the basic poses of line-kneeling, sitting, arm balancing, standing and lying on your back, while also using AcroYoga poses and counter-balance to develop the necessary balance for each form through partner acrobatics and balances.  No partner required!

    Time: 12:30p-2:30p
    Cost: $25 Members–$35 Non-members (includes reduced daypass)
    $15 Youth Member/$25 Youth Non-Member (18 and under)

    2nd Workshop–Backbends and Inversions

    This workshop transitions to more advanced poses-backbends, inversions, transitions (turning while on the line, sit to stand, spinning across the line) in conjunction with more advanced AcroYoga poses and transitions.        Pre-requisite: 1st workshop or with instructors permission.

    Time: 3:30p-5:30p
    Cost: $25 for members and non-members who take the first workshop
    $35 for non-members when purchased separately (includes reduced day pass)

    Movement will be closed on Sunday, July 4th.

    We will be open as usual through Saturday, July 3rd —- so come to a cycling class, Blast class, yoga class or get your climb on!
    We will then resume normal operation on Monday, July 5th.

    In the meantime, don’t forget about all the great things going on at Movement in July!

    Aero Yoga Summer Series

    Movement is one of the few fitness facilities in town that offers guests the chance to use Om Gyms to explore their yoga practice. Due to great success in our June Aero Yoga Series, we are offering the Series in July as well! This will be the final opportunity this summer to participate, so if you are interested, be sure to get on the list today! Simply call us at 303.443.1505 or email us at yoga@movementboulder.com.

    Come fly with us in this playful experience of Aero Yoga!  Build your flight skills through solo practice, partner yoga and introductory sling work.  Increase strength and flexibility, experience new dimensions of your yoga practice and decompress with therapeutic Thai Massage.  Explore your inherent potential and gain new perspective from turning your world upside down!  Open to anyone with a basic yoga foundation and the ability to practice handstand using the wall.  Come by yourself or bring a friend!

    The series will be held on three consecutive Fridays starting on July 9th.  We ask that you register for all three in order to participate in the class series.

    The cost for the full 3-part series is $30 for members and $60 for non-members (includes three reduced price day passes).   For members that pre-register before July 2nd, the price is only $25!
